For Athletic Departments
Oxygen Recovery for University Athletics
A practical guide for sports medicine and procurement teams evaluating Bimini oxygen nanobubble hydrotherapy: planning requirements, demo scheduling and university purchasing.
Why athletic departments evaluate it
Bimini NanoJet systems dissolve oxygen nanobubbles into warm water for 30 to 60 minute recovery soaks. A pilot study at Rice University's Department of Bioengineering reported a 46% improvement in measured muscle-recovery markers for the nanobubble cohort. Read the Rice University case study for the full context.
- Warm-water modality athletes actually comply with
- No pressurized chamber, no per-session scheduling bottleneck
- Connects to existing training-room whirlpools (NanoJet Pro)
- Wellness device — fits alongside existing sports medicine protocols

Facility planning at a glance
Space
NanoJet Pro connects to an existing whirlpool or cold-tub vessel holding up to five athletes. The unit itself needs a utility footprint beside the tub, not a dedicated room.
Power
Runs on 110V or 220V. No specialty electrical work for most training rooms.
Plumbing
No additional plumbing. The system circulates water from the vessel you already have.
Staffing
Sessions are self-serve soaks of 30 to 60 minutes. Athletic training staff supervise the room as they would any hydrotherapy modality.
How procurement works
1. Planning review
Share your training-room layout, existing tubs and athlete volume. We confirm which system fits (NanoJet Pro for team vessels, HydroLounge for single-athlete stations) and provide spec sheets for facilities review.
2. Demo and evaluation
Schedule a live demo for your sports medicine and strength staff. We walk through the Rice University research, operation, sanitation and maintenance so your staff can evaluate it hands-on.
3. Quote and purchasing
We provide a formal quote compatible with university purchasing: itemized equipment, shipping and consumables, W-9 and vendor registration on request, and PO-based invoicing through your procurement office.
Common procurement questions
Which universities use Bimini systems?
Bimini systems are used in NCAA programs including Rice University, where the Department of Bioengineering also conducted a pilot study on nanobubble recovery. We can share the study and arrange reference conversations during evaluation.
Does Bimini support PO-based purchasing?
Yes. We issue formal itemized quotes, register as a vendor where required, and invoice against purchase orders through your procurement office.
What does an athletic department typically budget?
The NanoJet Pro commercial system is $24,995 and connects to an existing whirlpool. The O2 HydroLounge single-station unit is $10,750. Consumables are limited to replaceable filter sieves and hoses.
Is this a medical device?
No. Bimini systems are wellness devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. They are used as a recovery and wellness modality alongside your existing sports medicine protocols.
